Gabicci Bring Back Their Classic Paisley Print Courtesy of The Houghton Mac
If there's one item Gabicci Vintage have really championed in recent years it's got to be the classic mac.
A brand originally associated with Soul Boys & the early Casuals, it was more polo shirts & knitwear as far as repping the iconic 'G' was concerned. Fast forward 50 years and the brand has remained true to its core whilst also evolving its collections to cater for the growing number of Gabicci Vintage fans. Their unique take on the original mac has certainly given the original mac brands of the 1980s a run for their money. Started back in 1973 by Jack Sofier and Alex Pyser after a visit to the Italian town of Gabicce Mare, located in the picturesque Province of Pesaro and Urbino, Gabicci is a heritage brand rich in British subculture. The iconic G logo captured the hearts of the soul movement of the 1970s with Northern Soul in the North of England and the Soul Boys in the South. World renowned Soul DJ's like Norman Jay pioneered the original Gabicci Soul Boy look with Gabicci knitwear and polo shirts. Merging the lines somewhere between soul & the smarter dressers, the Gabicci Vintage line revived the original styles worn by the Soul Boys & the original Casuals.

As usual with Gabicci Vintage it's all about the finer details, in this instance that classic paisley print. Given a nod to the psychedelic style of the 1960s, the Houghton Mac switches the usual check under the collar and lining for the signature paisley print which looks like it could of been taken directly off an original Beatles album cover from 1965. An added throat strap to the collar adds extra function with a concealed front button placket to the front keep out the cold. A special mill finish to the fabric also adds extra resistance to the garment from rain & stains. Finished off the iconic 'G' logo to the left chest, the Houghton Mac is a must for the serious dressers out there.
