Celebrate 20 Years of 80s Casual Classics With the Fila Grand Slam Track Top
The Fila Grand Slam track top was one of our very first Fila track tops from 2006 & now arrives as part of a 20th anniversary re-release.
Sub-labels & legendary designers are simply what make the "casual" clothes we wear so special. If Fila owe one particular person for its legacy of Settanta's, Terrinda's & Tie Breakers it's got to be Pier Luigi Rolando. Tapped up by Fila's managing director at the time, Enrico Frachey, Rolando was tasked with heading up the newly founded 'White Line' in 1973. The polar opposite of traditional "all white" tennis designs, the White Line changed tennis-wear forever, with a focus on style driven sportswear as well as performance & function courtesy of Allesandro Galliano. Kelly green's, bold red's and navy's stuck two fingers up to elite tennis clubs like Wimbledon, giving the White Line its very own rebellious appeal. Drawing inspiration from the original White Line styles of the late 1970s & early 1980s, the Fila Grand Slam track top now returns to its spiritual home for a very special 20th anniversary re-release.

First introduced in 2006' coming off the back of the release of Nick Love's 'The Business' and our humble beginnings as a specialist retro sportswear supplier, the Grand Slam marked one of our very first Fila styles. Drawing inspiration from the original White Line designs as well as the Fila WCT tracksuit which featured the famous cross striped design & was worn by World Championship Tennis (WCT) athletes during the late 70s & early 80s. Something like the equivalent of Sergio Tacchini's Davis Cup uniform, the WCT tracksuits were specifically designed as warm up gear & featured the WTC logo to the right chest.

Reviving the White Line inspired WTC silhouette, the Grand Slam track top now returns to its spiritual in some archive inspired colourways for a very special exclusive release. Featuring a classic funnel neck design with the famous white striping to the front, rear & sleeves. Other highlights include Fila's iconic F logo embroidered to the left chest alongside Fila branding to the zip.
