Casual Luxury: The Fila Terrinda Mk3 Arrives in Full Tracksuit Form
Nothing screams a bit of classic 'wiseguy' or 'wideboy' like a full Fila tracksuit whether it's Paulie Walnuts in East Caldwell or Charlie aka The Playboy on the Costa Del Crime.
For those who weren't swaggering about in sportswear outside some boozer in South London back in the 1980s, their first introduction into the world of casual sportswear was literally watching the Sopranos in the early noughties or Nick Love's The Business from 2005. It was the latter that would catapult a certain retailer into the "casual" spotlight, reviving classic 80s sportswear from brands like Fila & Sergio Tacchini. Following the legacy of the Settanta Mk1 from 1976 and the Settanta MkII from 1980, the Settanta MkIII (Terrinda) took style driven sportswear to new levels with its biker jacket style collar, padded shoulder detail, white piping, Italian styling and luxurious velour fabric. The expensive price tag and colourful Italian styling made the Terrinda one of the most more desirable sportswear styles at the time. Introduced at a pinnacle of casual fashion the Fila Terrinda still remains one of our most sought after styles from the 80s era. Designed by the legendary Fila designer, Pierluigi Rolando, it was the original White Line that caused a seismic shift in the tennis world.
